Job Overview:
The primary function of the Climate Control Technician is to install, repair and maintain portable heating, air conditioning and dehumidifying equipment. This is a non-exempt, full-time position reporting to the department manager.
Primary Duties:
- Knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical circuits, controls, and related equipment.
- Able to use all HVAC-R hand tools required to complete the job.
- Good communitive skills and coordination with authority, co-workers, contractors, and clients.
- Enforce that work is being done in compliance with company protocol.
- Produce detailed safety and incident reports as needed.
- Read and interpret safety/employment manuals and other work-related documents.
- Work extended hours when required for scheduling and/or job completion.
- Work in varying weather conditions when required.
- Follow written and verbal instructions.
- Follow company quality, safety and environmental guidelines as well as employee handbook policies.
- Able to lift 80 pounds of necessary equipment; Able to push and pull 75 pounds. Ability to climb a ladder.
- Handle exposure to dust, fumes, heights, and high noise levels.
- Able to utilize company WO software to completion of projects.
- Available to be on a rotating on-call schedule that includes occasional nights and weekends.
- Able to handle high stress situations and frequent interruptions.
- Use good reasoning and organizational skills.
- Regular interaction with peers on-site, including face-to-face meetings and spontaneous conferences.
- Regular and reliable attendance and presence at work.
- Operate in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid chauffer’s driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Able to pass pre-employment 7-year criminal background check.
